Monthly Meetings are held at the meeting room of the Phelan House on Jackson Ave. 

Monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month except July and August., are open to any interested visitors.
Many of our club activities are open to visitors too!
You are welcome to attend our annual:
  • archery contest
  • public gun sight-ins
  • our kids’ ice fishing experience
  • and more
    Many of our monthly meetings have guest speakers who speak on a wide range of topics such as wilderness survival, outdoor photography, and important local conservation issues.

         NICOLA VALLEY FISH & GAME CLUB

 

                               PENTATHLON  2010

 

 Pentathlon postponed until October, Please watch here and on the calender for updates 

Cost - $12.00 per day including lunch

 

 

Medals /Prizes/Awards:

                     medals for each discipline ie: trap, big bore etc  -1st, 2nd, 3rd

                     medals for aggregate winners ( 4 disciplines total points )     

                     competitors can take their best score from any of the two pentathlons. ie;April 17– May 8 or June12 – July10

 

Club Competition

July 24  – a one day event with medals/ prizes for all shooters who participate. This is dependent on the success of  the above events.

 

Events

 

1. Archery

200 points max. Hunting bows and Target bows – 20  shots @ 30 yards = 200 points possible.

 

 2.Trap shooting – Draw for station position  -  *** Bring your won shotgun shells #72 maximum shot size – lead only.

16 yard  - 5 – practice shots ( 1 from each station )

25 scoring birds x 8 points each= 200 possible points.

 

3. Big Bore

                    sporting rifles only 10x power scope maximum   *** Shooting order would be 1,2,3,4.

1. 6 shots offhand @ 100 yds.

2. 6 shots sitting @ 100 yds

3. 6 shots elbows @ 200 yds

4. 2 shots or sitting @ 300 yds.

10 shots x 2 = 200 points

 

4. .22 Rifle    -  6x scope maximum   ***any .22 rim fire rifle.

                     10 shots offhand @ 20 yards

                     10 shots elbows @20 yards

20 shots x 10 = 200 possible points

 

5. .22  Handgun  -   ***no scopes allowed

                     10 shots 1 hand @ 20 yards  - standing unsupported

                     10 shots 2 hands @ 20 yards – 1 hand supports the other.

20 shots x 10 = 200 possible points

Saturday  April 17–  Archery, trap, .22 rifle

 

Saturday  May 8  -     Big Bore,.22 handgun

 

Saturday  June 12 -    Archery, Trap, .22 rifle

 

Saturday July 10 -    Big Bore, .22 handgun

 

Saturday July 24 – Club Competition   - tentative

*** Events  start at 10:00 AM.

 

*** Registration  @ 9:30 AM *** $12.00 CASH

 

Lunch Break 12:00 – 12.30  ***  hot dogs, coffee, tea – supplied or bring your own lunch

 

Resume events  12:30

 

 

***   Competitors can shoot on their own time if unable to make event day .

They must be accompanied by a verifier who is also  a competitor.

Fees must be paid to verifier prior to shooting.
